The future of Portsmouth, according to Mayor John Rowe Jr., is so bright he has to wear his shades.
In fact, every attendee at the Portsmouth State of the City address April 19 was encouraged to put on the free pair of sunglasses set out on their tables before they headed back outside.
“It’s a new day in Portsmouth,” said Rowe who started his four-year term Jan. 1. “The state of our city is great.”
